"A SPECIAL EVENT AT THE BEST OF BADIN FESTIVAL"

On October 10, 2004 the BADIN AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY - JOE A. ROSS MEMORIAL - was formed. On November 19, 2004 the society obtained call sign of Joe Ross, W4EIT. Joe was a life time honorary member of the Stanly County ARS prior to his death on November 9, 2002.
This Society is a MEMORIAL TO JOE A. ROSS a long time resident of Badin, N. C. and the original holder of the W4EIT call sign. The primary purpose is devoted to Amateur Radio service activities consistent with Federal Communications Commission Rules. The Society may instruct others to become Amateur Operators, assist new and older Amateurs.
Anyone may become an associate member of the Badin Amateur Radio Society - Joe A. Ross Memorial by simple request to trustee, Larry J. Almond, K4MGA.
There are no dues and no formal meetings and membership provides no specific benefits or liabilities.
Everyone is invited to visit and participate in the special event and join as an associate member.

The special event was advertised in Sept QST page 97 and is also listed under the W4EIT call sign on www.QRZ.com.
Associate member Ed Griffin, W4KMA of "KMA ANTENNAS" will design and print the certificate for the special event.
The BADIN AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY - JOE A. ROSS MEMORIAL (W4EIT) will operate a special event station on Sept. 17, 2005 from 1400utc until 2100utc. This is our first special event. (10 AM to 5 PM)
Freq. used will be (+-) 14.250 or (+-) 7.260 where conditions are best.
The event will be at the BEST OF BADIN FESTIVAL - A CELEBRATION OF TOWN'S FRENCH HERITAGE in Badin, NC.
The station location will be inside the ROGER THOMAS ART STUDIO on Falls Rd. in Badin, NC.
