Philanthropic Visionaa

In the past, our organization has been almost totally dependent on government funding for project activities. This stemmed from the fact that our initial direction as a non-profit was oriented toward service delivery, which is probably the most typical area in which non-profits develop partnerships with government. Our latest efforts are aimed at expanding and developing new partnerships that include foundations, corporations, business and government.

As a non-profit concentrating on natural resource planning, rural development, and environmental quality, we plan to continue our efforts to provide technical expertise through our networking system.  But beyond that, we have an intimate knowledge of our communities and because we have a stake in them, we can provide assistance through our ability to critique and ask the hard questions without intimidating our constituents.  That is one item that sets us apart from government.  However, we share with government a public goal as our mission.  But, like the private sector, we share the flexibility to adapt to change more rapidly and effectively than government.  As entrepreneurs, we can serve as catalysts for researching new ideas, testing innovative projects, demonstrating new and effective programs, networking, and identifying best practices around the country. We can then adapt them for use in the four-county area served by Environmental Impact (RC&D), Inc.

Our new strategy is to get more citizens involved, releasing community energy, and building support and leaders in the natural resource areas, as well as, community development. We must serve as a bridge, a means for people to come together to pursue community goals, regardless of race, religion, income, or other differences that divide us.

We offer you, the visitors to our website, an opportunity to become involved with our community efforts. If you would like to give of your time and/or resources, please contact our office at:
